What is this?

Fumblerooski is based on the premise that too much information about college football is never enough. It will attempt to provide a place where users can find statistics about conferences, teams, coaches, games and players. It is powered by Django, an open source Python Web framework.

Who is behind Fumblerooski?

I'm Derek Willis, a college football junkie who helps build data-driven web apps for The New York Times. And then there's you, the visitor. You can get involved, too.

How can I get involved?

I'm glad you asked. First, Fumblerooski is open source; check out the code at Github. Go ahead, fork it ask to be a contributor. If that's not your style, there are other ways, too. You can flesh out data for the app, including coaches, bowl games and more. Contact me at dwillis AT gmail to get started.

What's next?

I have a lot of plans for Fumblerooski, but in general, they involve fleshing out most of the data, creating feeds and/or APIs and adding visualizations. You can suggest changes or features by emailing me at the address noted above. And yes, there will be a blog soon.
